Read from the source sheets, not a trace
The zone boundaries come from the vector paths inside the published maps — the draftsman's own lines. 77 of 77 towns match IS 875-3 Annex A.
It tells you when it cannot be sure
The printed zone boundary is a line 3.1 km wide on the ground. Near one, the map says so and gives you the conservative value rather than implying a precision the source does not have.
Check with the map in the IS code. Every figure here is read off the published zone maps — IS 1893 (Part 1) Fig. 1 for the seismic zone, and the basic wind speed map for Vb — whose printed boundaries are a line about 3.1 km wide on the ground. Confirm the zone against the code before you design to it.
